- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition and stirring in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden brown at the edges.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
You can refrigerate the dough for a day before baking. Try adding chopped nuts or coconut for customization!
