- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 1 cup of gruyere cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon of butter (for greasing the dish)
- Optional: Fresh herbs for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a casserole dish with butter.
- Peel and slice the potatoes thinly (1/8-inch thick).
- Mix the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Layer half of the potatoes in the greased dish, pouring half of the cream mixture over them, and sprinkling half of the Gruyère cheese.
- Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and Gruyère cheese.
- Top with grated Parmesan.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let sit for a few minutes before serving, garnishing with fresh herbs if desired.
